چکیده
Abstract The world of biomaterials has been continuously evolving. Where in the past only mono-material implants were used, growth technology and collaboration between researchers from different sectors led to a tremendous improvement implant industry. Nowadays, composite materials are one leading research areas for biomedical applications. When we look toward hard tissue applications, metal-based composites seem be desirable candidates. Metals provide mechanical physical properties needed load-bearing which when merged with beneficial bioceramics/polymers can help creation remarkable bioactive as well biodegradable implants. Keeping this mind, review will focus on various production routes possible, pros cons techniques have provided.

Collagen-Based Biomaterials for Tissue Engineering Applications
Collagen is the most widely distributed class of proteins in the human body. The use of collagen-based biomaterials in the field of tissue engineering applications has been intensively growing over the past decades. Multiple cross-linking methods were investigated and different combinations with other biopolymers were explored in order to improve tissue function. Collagen possesses a major adva...
متن کاملPorous-based biomaterials for tissue engineering and drug delivery applications
The current research on micro-and nano-biomaterials is expected to have an enormous impact on human health care. The applications include medical devices, diagnostics, sensors, drug delivery systems, and tissue/bone engineering. Drug delivery systems should be biocompatible allowing for high payloads of drug molecules without premature drug release, be site specific for targeting delivery, and ...
متن کاملNanostructured Active Biomaterials for Tissue Engineering Applications
In recent years, considerable effort has been devoted to the design and controlled fabrication of nanostructured materials with functional properties. The layer by layer buildup of the polyelectrolyte multilayered films from oppositely charged polyelectrolytes [1] offers new opportunities for the preparation of functionalized biomaterial coatings. This technique allows the preparation of supram...
متن کاملGradient biomaterials for soft-to-hard interface tissue engineering.
Interface tissue engineering (ITE) is a rapidly developing field that aims to fabricate biological tissue alternates with the goal of repairing or regenerating the functions of diseased or damaged zones at the interface of different tissue types (also called "interface tissues"). Notable examples of the interface tissues in the human body include ligament-to-bone, tendon-to-bone and cartilage-t...
متن کاملIbuprofen-Loaded CTS/nHA/nBG Scaffolds for the Applications of Hard Tissue Engineering
Background: This study addressed the development of biodegradable and biocompatible scaffolds with enhanced biomechanical characteristics. The biocompatibility and the cationic nature of chitosan (CTS) make it more effective as a bone grafting material. Methods: The hydroxyapatite nanoparticles (nHA) were synthesized by hydrothermal method, and bioglass (nBG) (50% SiO2-45% CaO-5% P2O5) was synt...
